Give toys for KIND kids

August 1, 2017

In February, the Immigration Ministry organized a toy donation for children to play with while they meet with their lawyers, in preparation for their deportation hearings. The KIND (Kids in Need of Defense) Office was deluged with games and stuffed animals by generous Plymouth folks of all ages.

Recently, Janet Gwilym, a KIND attorney, reported they still have a good selection of toys, but the supply of small stuffed animals and dolls is diminishing, as kids find favorites and take them home. Occasionally, a stuffed toy accompanies the child to their detention hearing, a reminder to those present in the court room that justice needs to be tempered with mercy.

Your gifts are much appreciated and may be dropped in the box Sundays labeled KIND. Thank you for your generosity.
