World Communion Special Offering October 1

September 26, 2017

Annually, UCC churches collect a Special Offering called Neighbors in Need.  Funds support Justice and Witness Ministry in policy work on issues such as voting rights, immigration, health care, civil liberties and environmental justice, as well as local and national justice initiatives and direct service projects. The offering also supports the UCC’s Council for American Indian Ministries.

In the same spirit, Plymouth’s Community Service and Social Action Board selected KIND (Kids in Need of Defense) to receive 50% of this Special Offering.  KIND’s Seattle office serves all of Washington, providing legal services in immigration courts to children entering the immigration system alone.  It works to advance these children’s best interests, safety and well-being.
