Plymouth Teams with SIDC

November 14, 2017

Recent conversations with Seattle Infant Development Center (SIDC) located here at Plymouth, led to the idea of collaborating for a food drive to benefit Northwest Harvest. Zada Lofton who works at SIDC, says, “We want to teach the children about the differences in socio-economic levels and the importance of giving.”

Please bring non-perishable food items the next three Sundays, Nov. 19, 26 and Dec. 3, such as:

  • Beef stew, chili and similar meals
  • Canned fruit, low or no sugar
  • Canned fish or meat
  • Peanut butter (plastic jars are preferred)
  • Canned vegetables (low sodium)
  • Brown rice
  • Whole grain pastas
  • Canned tomato sauces
  • Shelf-stable milk
  • Baby formula
  • Jars of baby food
  • Powdered or canned milk
  • Infant cereal

Plymouth will combine our donations with SIDC and deliver items directly to Northwest Harvest. Lofton adds, “I’m hoping to make this a year-round collaboration with Plymouth. In December and January, we will collect socks, gloves and children’s coats.” - Janice Randall
