Walk the Labyrinth December 7

November 28, 2017

During this Advent season, come to Hildebrand Hall between 10 am to 2 pm Thursday December 7 and walk the Labyrinth.

This year’s December labyrinth walk falls on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. We invite all to take time to honor those who endured and those who died in the attack. We also invite remembrance and appreciation for the sacrifice made by all the women and men who served and are serving and for those who died in service to our country.

Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates wrote this tribute: “We remember with reverence the extraordinary debt we owe to those who have served in uniform and sacrificed, even unto death, for their fellow Americans. This includes the more than 100,000 immigrants who, since September 11, 2001, have become citizens while wearing the uniform of the United States military. They have been part of a rarified group: the one percent of Americans — native born, naturalized and undocumented immigrants alike — who constitute our military.”

Reflecting on these sacrifices, we wonder, “How can I possibly honor their gifts? An answer lies in the question: where do I find beauty and purpose in my life? Enjoy the peace of a labyrinth walk in preparation for Advent and the coming holy season.
