Special Worship Friday, January 26

January 23, 2018

Rev. Kelle Brown invites all to attend a special Friday evening worship, this week at 6 pm, in the Lounge. Enter to music, followed by a showing of 2017 documentary I Am Not Your Negro and post discussion.

In this powerful film, Director Raoul Peck envisions the unfinished James Baldwin book begun in 1979, about race in America. Using the writer's original words, the film is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson. Peck draws upon James Baldwin's notes on the lives and assassinations of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. to explore and bring a fresh and radical perspective to the current racial narrative in America and a sobering reminder of how far we have yet to go.
