Defining our Vision

March 20, 2018

What is our vision for our nearly 150-year-old church? This past Sunday after 11 am service, nearly 50 interested and engaged Plymouth leaders and members gathered for the first 2018 Congregational Conversation. We listened as Rev. Kelle and Rev. Steve outlined a church-wide vision, fresh from the leadership retreat the previous weekend. We witnessed our pastors introduce the Micah 6:8 exhortation to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly, and heard how it might play out in a prison congregation, faith-based banking and online ministry, to name a few exciting ideas. We pondered how critically important it is for us to take time to understand who we are as a church, so we build a strong foundation for claiming our identity as a church. We asked lots of questions, shared many opinions and heard our fellow congregants strive to discern what God has in mind for Plymouth. In short, we experienced a great conversation…the first of four this year. Come join us Sunday, June 10 for the next Congregational conversation! – Bing Tso, Vice Moderator
