April 2, 2018
Say hello to Brandon Burns, Plymouth’s new Facilities Coordinator, 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. He starts April 2. Brandon recently graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham with a degree in Political Science, a subject he is passionate about, especially the philosophy of politics. Last summer Brandon interned at Capitol Hill’s Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a program whose mission since 1990 is to create safe and affirming schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Brandon grew up in Georgia and moved to Bellingham for college. “I love the nature here; even in the city, the Northwest is so connected to nature. The weather is better here and the people are so different…I never saw a compost bin before I moved here!”
When asked about what drew him to the position, Brandon said, “When I saw the website and Facebook and banners on the building, I got really excited about the progressive message. Plymouth is very different from my experience with churches in the south including the Southern Baptist church where I grew up.”
Now living in West Seattle, Brandon enjoys hanging out with friends, exploring Seattle, listening to music, playing video games and hiking all the great trails. Welcome Brandon!
Plymouth Church is open to the public Thursday, February 14, beginning at 9 am.
