Remembering Catherine Colwell

Catherine Colwell February 5, 1919 – February 11, 2018

Catherine Colwell was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut. She received her education at Vassar College and had a lifetime occupation of being a homemaker. She was married to Rev. David G. Colwell in 1942 and served by his side at churches in Massachusetts, Colorado, Washington D.C., and at Plymouth Congregational Church in downtown Seattle from 1967-1982. They moved to Horizon House in August 1993. She served on the board of Advocates, Resources, and Counseling Foundation, which assists mentally disabled adults in many ways. She enjoyed sewing, reading, music, dancing, walking, biking, and wardrobe consulting. She was a mother of six children. Her husband preceded her in death in 2001. She is survived by many loved ones, including family and friends.  A service is scheduled for 2 pm Saturday, April 28, in the Sanctuary, reception to follow.
