Calling a Congregational Meeting Regarding Kevin Bechtold’s Ministry
We are pleased to call a congregational meeting for Sunday, June 10, immediately following 11 am service. The purpose of this meeting will be a vote to call Kevin Bechtold to become a minister at Plymouth.
This moment comes after many months of planning, discussion and discernment among the ministers, staff, Council, and, of course, Kevin. Kevin has agreed to begin leadership of the middle school and confirmation program in fall/2018, coinciding with the beginning of the church school year. In addition, he will be available for pastoral care, assist in creating faith formation materials for various age levels, assist from time to time in worship leadership and take on other opportunities as they arise. This position begins as a quarter time position.
Kevin Bechtold grew up at Plymouth and is excited about the opportunity to give back to his church community in a new way. He has been a member of Plymouth since his confirmation class in 2001. Since then, he earned a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Oregon and a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology and Ministry at Seattle University. He, his wife Alicia and their 17-month-old son Luke live in Lynnwood. Kevin spent this past year working with Plymouth high school youth. He has been approved for ordination, pending call by the conference’s Committee on Ministry.
We are excited to enter into ministry with Kevin as we hope to extend his first call and look forward to his ordination!
