Plymouth Church and Path with Art (a Pioneer-Square based multi-discipline arts program for persons experiencing homelessness) community partnership continued beyond September 2017 “Welcome Home” art exhibition in Hildebrand Hall. Since then, Path with Art’s choir meets weekly in Hildebrand Hall. Plymouth recently provided space for an eight-week drumming class. Starting in August, Path with Art offers a keyboard music class in Hildebrand Hall.
Path with Art’s STRUM Music Program provides music education, engagement and performance opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness and other traumas. Most participants do not own or have access to instruments and equipment to explore and develop their musical interests. Many students are actively homeless and do not have a safe place to store possessions.
Path with Art is launching an instrument donation drive to collect donations of new and used instruments and equipment for music programming. The goal is to provide instruments for classes, jam sessions, practices, songwriting, as well as for low-income participants to keep. "We currently have a specific need for keyboards, synthesizers and guitars, and we are excited to accept most donations." If you have musical instruments to donate, please contact: www.instrumentdonation.org Music@pathwithart.org.
Plymouth Church is open to the public Thursday, February 14, beginning at 9 am.
Plymouth Church UCC follows the Seattle Public Schools schedule for weather closures/delays. In case of emergency, please contact Executive Minister email@example.com. Email messages will be checked regularly.
