Director of Music & Arts
Plymouth Chancel Choir, Sunday Singers, Plymouth Ringers, orchestral and brass ensembles regularly contribute to vital Sunday worship and special music events, with regional and national guest artists, stellar soloists and emerging youth talent.
The Chancel Choir serves as Plymouth’s principal choir in Sunday morning worship. The choir sings a diverse repertory of sacred music from gospel, spirituals, and world music to music dating from the Renaissance through the present day.
Meets Thursdays from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Zoom.
Plymouth Sunday Singers is an ensemble of enthusiastic singers who love making a joyful noise together. Sunday Singers perform a variety of folk styles - bluegrass, gospel, protest songs, pop, and soul. All are welcome, no matter your experience level.
Meets Sundays at 9 am in Hildebrand Hall.
Ringing 3 to 4 octaves of handbells, the Plymouth Ringers meet weekly to prepare music for worship, which they share about once a month. The Ringers include people who have rung handbells for many years, as well as those who are relatively new to this fun way of making music together. An ability to read music is helpful, but beyond that, we can teach you what you need to know!
We have hosted touring choirs from Selwyn College Cambridge (UK), Westminster Choir College, and the Stanford Chorale. Many of our events, such as the Dia de Los Muertos concerts in November that we have co-produced with Orquesta Northwest in Ballard and their conductor Paula Nava Madrigal, are underwritten so that all the funds collected at the concert are given to a non-profit in the Seattle area.
